Tony Macaluso brings over 20 years of leadership in shipboard operations, engineering, program management, and defense acquisition to TotalTek. He began his U.S. Navy career in 2005 upon graduating with honors from the United States Naval Academy. The first half of his career was spent at sea, serving as Navigator on USS CROMMELIN (FFG 37) and as Chief Engineer on USS FARRAGUT (DDG 99) and USS HUE CITY (CG 66), where he led his departments through high-tempo deployments, major repairs, and rigorous operational certifications.
Transitioning to the Navy’s Engineering Duty Officer community, Macaluso spent the second half of his career leading technical programs and acquisition efforts for NAVSEA. He oversaw multi-million-dollar ship repair and modernization programs at shipyards and regional maintenance centers alike. At Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, he stood up three major programs to expand fleet readiness: a drydock operations program, a global expeditionary maintenance department, and an operations division at CMSD Shipyard. His assignments also included Docking Officer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where he directed nuclear submarine dockings and supported the undocking of USS CONSTITUTION.
Macaluso retired from the Navy in 2025 and now leads government business development at TotalTek. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, he resides with his family in Cape Neddick, Maine. He enjoys surfing, boating, fishing, and coaching youth baseball. Macaluso holds master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the United States Naval Academy.
