Summary

The Distribution Center (DC) Technical Specialist role will include (a) elements of day-to-day end user support, (b) DC Equipment, Software, and Computer monitoring and maintenance task(s), as well as (c) other duties throughout the DTC’s Environment which relate to the (a/b) job functions described herein.

Main contacts will be with end-user staff, colleagues, various vendors, and other individuals (as needed). The work may include the use of manuals, guidelines or other established procedures containing or relating to highly technical, or other similarly complex matters that can be understood or interpreted only by those with advanced or specialized knowledge or skills
.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to requests, via phone, chat or e-mail, as part of the DC Operational support process. Documents each issue in partnership with the IT Department (a)
  • Initial setup for DC-related equipment such as Fast Fetch carts, RF Guns, Zebra/Network Printers, Cubiscan devices, and related equipment (b)
  • Perform moves, additions, or changes to DC-related equipment. (b)
  • Monitors existing equipment for repair or replacement, including but not limited to: Fast Fetch Picking Carts, Cubiscan Device(s), Keyboard/Monitor/Mouse, RF Guns, and DC-based (Network and Zebra Label) Printers (b)
  • Investigate and resolve errors within software such as Fast Fetch (Cart Picking), WMS Wave/Allocation process, Proship (Shipping Issues), RF Gun connectivity, and Timeclock Kiosk Tablets…. working with other DC-related staff and IT Department as required (b)
  • Perform Wave Allocation/Cleanup tasks within the WMS, partnering with and escalating more involved issues to the IT Department as needed (b)
  • Documents processes, systems, and maintains all support-related Inventory needs to ensure business continuity in the DC (b)
  • Engage with vendor(s) directly for various tasks such as Printer Issues (Supply Replenishment), Fast Fetch & RF Gun maintenance or part replacement, collaborating with the IT Department as needed (b)
  • Participate Fully in “On-Call” (after-hours) Support for DC Operational needs (a/b)
 
Education and/or Experience

Must have graduated from an accredited college or university with an associate degree or higher in information technology, business operations, systems support, or possess equivalent work experience; AND have at least two (2) years of RECENT full-time, professional experience in configuring, administering, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining DC-related equipment and systems.

  • Recent experience with one or more of the following systems and/or services:
    • Computer hardware; Operating Systems; Printers (Zebra | Network); ERP/WMS Software (such as Exenta, Red Prairie/JDA, etc..); Cubiscan; Proship; Fast Fetch Picking Software/Carts; Network Environments; Wireless Services and Devices (e.g., RF Guns); Inventory Management; and Uninterruptible Power Supplies.
