Responsibilities:
  • Drives design, debug, and testing of software for standard motor control applications especially as it applies to power electronics.
  • Collaborates across the organization with code sharing, design reviews, and practices to hit timelines.
  • Analyzes and designs new routine software algorithms and improves existing products.
  • Designs and/or improves routine control algorithms and software with guidance on manufacturability, quality and cost with a strong understanding of software design tools and methods.
  • Optimizes components and products with guidance on manufacturability, quality and cost with a strong understanding of controls and software algorithm analysis methods.
  • Solves problems with a solid understanding of problem solving process and ability to apply to routine design problems.
  • Assists in capturing voice of customer and development of product specifications. Translates customer needs to manufacturing requirements.
  • Creates test plans and develops new test protocol for products or components, with a basic understanding of reliability and failure mechanisms.
  • Participates in documentation of software requirements and design.
  • Works with application engineering and hardware engineering to meet customer/system requirements.
  • Applies understanding of markets to develop forward thinking technologies.
     
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent related experience.
  • 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience with software development and design for manufacturability.
  • Good knowledge of software control theory as it relates to power electronics.
  • Knowledge of IoT connected technologies
  • Experience in providing customer support and dealing with challenging customer issues.
  • Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating working relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
  • Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years; Design for Lean Six Sigma or Black Belt preferred.
