Responsibilities:
  • Operate independently and collaborate closely with application engineer, electrical designer, project manager, sourcing, and mechanical team on projects after order conversion for clear communication minimizing gaps/issues and improving quality.
  • Review customer documents (specification, one-line etc) and compare with final quote BOM. Document gaps/issues in our exception and clarification sheet for customer acknowledgement prior to submittal drawings.
  • Design electrical systems based on customer requirements. For metal-clad, E-House and Metal-Enclosed orders, prepare submittal drawings, One-line, bill of material (in collaboration with application engineer), controls schematics, sub-panel layouts, name plates. Coordinate with project manager for submitting approval drawings with exception and clarification sheet.
  • Coordinate with mechanical team to ensure M-drawings are aligned with one line.
  • Prepare AC and DC loads calculation for CPTs and Battery Systems.
  • Attend onboard approval meetings with project manager (when required) to validate design after customer release. Review customer redlines promptly and communicate project manager for requesting change orders.
  • Follow engineering processes and conduct handshake meetings with the electrical designer and mechanical engineer for sub panel, door layouts components, conduit, wireway and cable tray runs ensuring gaps are not found in manufacturing avoiding rework.
  • Check construction drawings package by filling out Design Check List prior to release of design to maintain quality.
  • Process Engineering Change Notice (ECNs) and show urgency to promptly close issues for on time shipments.
  • Provide engineering support on production floor and testing.
  • Coordinate with sourcing team when parts are obsoleted to process ECN for ordering replacement parts communicated by sourcing team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
     
Qualifications:
  • Minimum BSEE or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, desired EIT or PE licensure.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE standards, NEC codes as they apply to MV/LV switchgear and E-House.
  • 1-6 years of experience in power system industry
  • Knowledge of engineering, design, and manufacturing of MV/LV Switchgear (Metal-Clad, Metal-Enclosed, E-House, etc) and other power distribution equipment integrated into the switchgear.
  • Interpretation of customer specifications, drawings (One Line, Controls, 3 lines, wiring diagrams and cable schedule), and power system requirements as they apply to MV/LV Products
