Summary:

Responsible for simple to complex design of electrical controls for Bio Life Science Industry as well as all the duties of a designer. Uses knowledge of commonly used concept, practices, procedures, and high-level engineering principles to complete the assigned work. Is responsible for all aspects of the Electrical design and the use of good engineering practices. Primary job functions require exercising independent judgement and a high degree of creativity. Assists Sales and Applications in equipment scope definition as needed, assists the installation team as needed. Approximately 10% travel may be required

Responsibilities:
  1. Creation of electrical circuit drawings
  2. Create machine wiring diagrams
  3. Creation and Maintenance of BOM's
  4. Complex layout/design of electrical equipment
  5. Component selection including drives, servos, cameras, and robots.
  6. Size wires, fuses, circuit breakers, etc.
  7. Complex related Electrical Engineering calculations
  8. Create I/O, cable, motor lists
  9. Create installation data, task lists
  10. Creates the electrical engineering project plan
  11. Participation in installation and start-up as required
  12. Checking of circuit drawings, layouts, and bills of materials
  13. Participate in customer contact as required
  14. Other engineering related activities as needed
Required Skills and Competencies
  1. Firm understanding of the UL, UL 508A, NFPA and NEC codes
  2. Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS) from four-year college or university; minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  3. AutoCAD skills required, AutoCAD Electrical preferred
  4. PC skills required
  5. Electrical Circuit Troubleshooting skills required
