Position Summary
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for assisting with architecture, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a data warehouse by defining policies and procedures; creating change management processes; and designing, mapping, building, testing, and implementing Extract-Transform-Load (i.e. ETL) solutions to collate, migrate, and integrate current/historical data from various operational and transactional sources/systems within the organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
 
  1. Provide support in determining data warehouse design requirements including researching, analyzing, designing, documenting, and modifying specifications throughout the production life cycle. Communicate with users to gain understanding of needed modifications to existing programs and processes. Enhances existing solutions as needed.
  2. Assist in the development of new data policies, procedures, and tools based on pre-existing specifications. Maintain and modify existing data sets, data loads, documentation, policies, procedures, and other data solutions.
  3. Analyze and interpret collection of data, spot trends, modeling data sets and data architectures, and developing & enhancing the data warehouse environment.
  4. Participate in teams within the SCRUM/Agile framework.
  5. Provide occasional on-call support and problem resolution of data warehouse issues and perform initial diagnosis of hardware issues or escalate issues to more experienced staff as needed.
  6. Assist with identifying and analyzing business needs, conduct requirements gathering, and define scope and objectives for IT systems, data solutions, and data warehouses.
  7. Comply with data warehouse security, policies, standards, and procedures.
  8. May provide technical direction to support staff.
  9. Assist in creating, maintaining, and interpreting databases diagrams and data dictionaries.
  10. Develop and test information solutions within production, staging, and development environments.
  11. Build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers.
  12. Complete other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • BS degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in database administration and SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience in the Microsoft Technology Stack including but not limited to SQL Server, Management Studio, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Previous experience in data modeling and transformation using standard ETL tools and methods.
  • Previous experience with writing SQL queries with Microsoft SQL and MySQL.
  • Previous experience with Git and software version control best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in state and federal information security laws, including but not limited to HIPAA, including NIST, PCI and all other applicable regulations preferred.
  • Prior pharmacy/medical claim experience preferred.
