Controls Engineer for our Burlington facility. As key member of our Operations team, the Controls Engineer is a big-picture analyst with experience in industrial maintenance and engineering to impact performance and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a wide breadth of experience in machine and process troubleshooting, as well as evidence of collaborative mentorships with a diverse set of team members & hands-on problem solving.   

Highly focused on process improvement, equipment reliability/capability and holding gains for lasting improvement, Controls Engineers can look forward to work that will include:
  • Serving as consultant to the Maintenance team with a laser-like focus on equipment availability with an emphasis on maximization of Quality, resource utilization, and productivity
  • Responding decisively to equipment issues through purposeful use of root cause analysis and DOE, identifying possible countermeasures and implementing effective and sustainable corrective actions
  • Analysis and action regarding recurring equipment issues; using depth of analysis to lead Maintenance team in continuous improvement initiatives and PM/TPM program revisions to improve OEE
  • Leading analysis and recommendations for implementing new technology to achieve corporate objectives; developing and leading equipment refurbishing projects
  • Providing technical training to maintenance and manufacturing engineering staff
  • Creating and monitoring electrical & mechanical documentation changes made to equipment
Required Skills and Competencies
  • 10+ years in manufacturing/facilities environment, working knowledge of PLC’s (including updating and troubleshooting)
  • 4 year degree in engineering; Mechanical or Electrical preferred
  • Broad technical knowledge and experience with electrical & mechanical systems
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting and process improvement capabilities as related to the position
  • Evidence of successful mentoring and lead work in an industrial maintenance environment
  • An energy and enthusiasm for overcoming obstacles and working collaboratively and efficiently to do so and a strong desire to work in team-oriented environment; a positive approach to problem solving and managing difficult situations effectively
  • A self-starter with evidence of excellent time and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with evidence of positive work relationships on cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and web-based applications
  • Ability to work actively in a manufacturing environment; includes working overtime as needed, walking/climbing to a variety of primary work locations, working at a computer, and lifting documents and/or work materials up to 30 lbs. as needed
