Position Summary:   
The Service Engineer utilizes mechanical, electrical, and software skills along with print/processing industry knowledge to collaborate with the Customer Service Team, in identifying problems and providing solutions for customers. This role provides key troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and program debugging for installed machines and machines being installed, globally.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/Key Characteristics:

  • Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to sites and machines as needed.
  • Design or aid in the design of mechanical, electrical, and software solutions.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to determine root cause for complicated issues, as well as gather information needed to design solutions.
  • Technical engineering resource for the Customer Service Team.
  • Assist on escalated controls-related issues during the customer service period.
  • Perform program updates, retrofits, and customer service special projects.
  • Communicate to the EMT Design Engineering Team any issues relating to service controls and design.
  • Document controls and engineering issues and solutions as source documents.
  • Serve as a chairperson with the EMT Design Engineering and customer service team regarding controls concerns/issues/resolutions.
  • Serve as customer voice to EMT Design Engineering Team.
  • Ability to travel domestically (50-80%) and internationally (5%), at a moment’s notice and for extended periods of time – typically a week and up to several weeks at a time.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Education and Training:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or controls; or related experience
  • Computer proficiency
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Schematic expertise
  • OEM experience a plus!
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
